Unique large round dining table with hand-painted tabletop by Philippe Demoulin
Description
This large round dining table is a unique piece of art, featuring a hand-painted tabletop and a hexagonal wrought-iron base with elegant, curled decorations. What makes this piece especially remarkable is that the tabletop was painted by Philippe Demoulin, an artist from Marrakesh, born in 1946 in Liège, Belgium. Although Demoulin is primarily known for his paintings, he used his artistic talent for this table in a one-time project to create a stunning tabletop.
The tabletop is crafted in a refined imitation of scagliola, a historical marquetry technique used from the late 16th century to the early 17th century to mimic marble and semi-precious stones. This makes the table not just a functional piece of furniture but also a unique artwork that exudes both craftsmanship and artistic flair. A rare and special object.
