Pair of cast iron garden benches in 19th century style – Mid 20th century
Description
A pair of cast iron garden benches, executed in 19th-century style and dating from the mid-20th century. These benches are modelled after Coalbrookdale’s well-known ‘Medallion’ design (c. 1865).
The backrests and armrests are richly openworked with organic motifs. Central to the backrest is a medallion depicting a maiden resting a bird upon her bent and raised right arm. The seats consist of wooden slats.
The benches exhibit a natural, aged patina. This set is a functional and decorative addition suitable for any garden, park, or spacious terrace, where they create a historical ambiance.
