Limestone wall fountain

“Fontaine murale”: Wall fountain originating from the rear facade with view over the park and orangerie, of Maison de Maître in the Quartier Saint Louis. Due to the build of an extension this fountain became positioned inside the building, where it has been the middlepoint of the garden room for decennia. In the 19th century Longwy developed as a recidential city for the big industrialists from the area. The Quartier Saint Louis was famous for it’s Maisons de Maîtres, the mansions of the wealthy.
