Le Grand Dictionnaire Historique – 7th Edition (1694)

Description

“Le Grand Dictionnaire Historique” is a monumental reference work compiled by the French priest and theologian Louis Moréri (1643–1680). First published in 1674, this encyclopedic work was one of the earliest encyclopedias in the vernacular language. It covers a wide range of geographical and historical topics, as well as biographies of notable figures from both religious and secular history.

This seventh edition from 1694, expanded and revised by Jean Le Clerc, is divided into two volumes: from “A” to “F” and from “G” to “Z”. Despite the worn bindings, this work remains a valuable resource for antiquarian book lovers, history researchers, and collectors.
