Late 19th century French shelving unit by Theodore Scherf, with glass shelves

Description

Late 19th century French shelving unit by Theodore Scherf Paris, ± 1870. The iron shelf supports have an old brass / copper-colored patina and the wooden shelves have been replaced by 1 cm thick frosted glass shelves, which gives this industrial shelving unit a chic look. This beautiful display case comes from the Dutch shoe store Hermans, which has been in their first store from the beginning, which opened in 1906.

The shelves of this cabinet have straight edges on one side and rounded edges on the other side. In the store, this cabinet was located together with a similar part (our item no. 4188) built around an outside corner in the store interior. Can also be used separately to place a side against a wall.
