Large Pierre Coquille flagstone to use as a floor for a fireplace

Antique fireplace stone. Large Pierre Coquille (Piëtra Coquina) stone, shell structured fossil limestone slab to use as a base for a fireplace or hearth.

The great interior design in the image is by Anne Claus Interiors at Republic of Bloemendaal in which we supplied a beautiful large antique fireplace trough.

Instead of a trough, this stone can be used very well to create the same wabi sabi style fireplace, as in the design by Axel Vervoordt and Tatsuro Miki in the TriBeCa Penthouse of The Greenwhich Hotel (in collaboration with the hotel’s partners Ira Drukier and Robert de Niro).
