70's handblown glass sphere / globe by Doria

Description

Doria handblown glass sphere on chrome base. Made in Germany in the 70’s. The handblown glass contains bubbles and pockets of air that capture and reflect the light. The arrangement is reminiscent of the Atomium structure in Brussels, Belgium that made its debut in 1958 and ushered in a physical embodiment of the atomic age. When the sphere is removed the lighting structure is revealed showing four chrome lamp holders of different heights along with an arrangements of solid chromed spheres also of various heights. This lamp is in a wondertul condition ready to use.

Diameter dome is 40 cm, height lamp is 46 cm.
