Extremely rare and large 18th Century French Ribbon Campan marble mantel piece with the original cast iron insert. Campan marble, which is known for its deep and clearly marked green veins and the beauty of its motifs, was (therefore) extensively used for the fireplaces in Versailles under the reign of Louis XIV.
