Cast iron fountain sculpture after Mathurin Moreau, Val d'Osne, 19th century

This white cast iron fountain sculpture, inspired by the work of French sculptor Mathurin Moreau (1822-1912), was produced by the renowned Val d’Osne foundry at the end of the 19th or early 20th century. The sculpture depicts a putto, a common motif in the sculpture of that era, and is a beautiful example of the collaboration between the artist and the foundry.
