Antique safe, Italy, late 18th / early 19th Century. This unique safe is made of riveted wrought iron over a wooden construction. It features two hidden locks, each opened with its own decorative large key.

An interesting detail is the small door on the inside of the safe’s main door. It offers a view of the ingenious locking mechanism, which is both functional and fascinating to observe.

This safe, also known as a “Cassaforte,” is both a functional and decorative object, as well as a fine example of Italian craftsmanship.
