A wrought iron armillary sphere, netherlands, 19th century
A wrought iron sundial from the Netherlands, 19th century. This armillary sphere was manufactured in the 19th century and stands on a hard stone base from the 18th century in the Dutch rococo style. The sundial is made of wrought iron and still has the original polychrome paint and vane. The base is bell-shaped and has a leaf motif.
This Armillary sphere can be compared to the one that stands in the garden of the Museum van Loon Amsterdam.
