A sculpted bluestone model of a lion and snake, second half of the 19th century. Model after Antoine-Louis Barye (1795-1875), Lion au Serpent.

The beast modeled with a serpent crushed under its leg, atop a naturalistic rock work and a foot encircled by snakes, on an octagonal plinth with a faint monumental inscription ‘…Lion Belge…’
