A pair of bronze modernist sphinxes

A pair of bronze modernist sphinxes, Dutch 1970s.

These sphinxes were once made to serve as the center point of the entrance to the modernist building “Sphinx State office” in Amsterdam, Diemerpoort. This building has been transformed into a hotel with a different name, after which the sphinxes have been moved.

These bronze statues have turned a beautiful color green which makes the sphinxes very attractive.

One sphinx leans on her right hip. Dimensions: height 127 cm x width 60 cm x depth 80 cm.
The second sits upright. Dimensions: height 128 cm x width 40 cm x depth 80 cm.
