A French Louis XIII cast iron fireback from 1610. In the center the coat of arms for Catherine de Cleves Comtesse d’Eu.

Catharine of Cleves (or Nevers), Countess of Eu (1548-1633), was the wife of Henry I, Duke of Guise and the matriarch of the powerful and influential House of Guise from 1570 to 1588, then Dowager Duchess of Guise . From 1564 she was also Countess of Eu herself.
