About us

Piet Jonker Architectural Antiques

We are ‘Piet Jonker Architectural Antiques’. We capture the most exclusive historical building materials and give them a second life. Our collection exists of old and antique building elements, unique antique and vintage interior objects and exclusive garden objects. The reuse and reclamation of old materials in combination with exclusivity and quality of these special materials is what characterises us. Anyone with an eye for quality and who is looking for special materials for their interior or exterior can come to us.

Our company was founded more than 50 years ago by Piet Jonker and since 2010 owned by his son Bas Jonker. The company has grown rapidly over the years, the team is very close and now consists of 15 employees, some of whom have been with us for at least 20 years.

Specialist in antique floors and fireplaces

From the start our company specializes in antique floors with character; such as old tiles, hard stone, marble and wooden floors. We sort these carefully by material, colour, age and quality. In our workshop, our stone workers ensure that the antique stone floors are ground, cleaned and sawn to the correct size. Our carpenter ensures that the lots of wooden floorboards are prepared and usable.

In addition to old floors, we have a collection of more than three hundred antique fireplaces in all kinds of styles, materials and sizes such as; robust sandstone fireplaces or monumental castle fireplaces and elegant or sleek marble fireplaces. If there are any imperfections, our restorer will professionally correct them, after which he will set up the fireplaces in our showroom.

We can call ourselves with right a specialist in antique floors and fireplaces.

Unique interior objects

Our range has expanded considerably over time, as a result we now have a large collection of special interior objects such as; antique mirrors, antique chandeliers, vintage furniture, vintage lighting and old sanitary facilities. Our buyers travel throughout Europe to find that one piece of design furniture, that antique chandelier or that special mirror. One of our special products are our Dutch Walltiles the so called “Witjes”. We make these ourselves, by hand, in eighteenth-century manner.

Sustainability and reclamation

In addition to exclusivity, we are focused on sustainability. We contribute to the circular design of interiors and gardens because we work with reclaimed materials. In addition, we ensure that materials that no longer have a function in their original state are still being used. We transform the remains of floor parts or parts of architectural ornaments into a special interior object; such as a mirror, a lamp or a table. In this way we reuse every part of the material that comes to us.

Our showroom and show garden

Piet Jonker Architectural Antiques is located only 10 minutes outside of Amsterdam, on the 18th-century country estate De Lindenhoff in Baambrugge. Our striking sculpture garden is clearly visible from the road. Here you will find an extensive collection of antique garden materials; such as garden statues, fountains, garden tables, benches and ponds. Our workshops, storage halls and a spacious showroom in the old building are also located on the estate, in which we have fully furnished 4 period rooms.
